Book Review: Jog For Your Life by Hayden Gilmore

“Jog For Your Life”

This book is out of print and it is one that I have had in my library for probably 10 years or better. Let me start out by saying there are better books on the market which are current that I would rather recommend to you.

With that said though, there are some great lesson in the book that are worth noting. The book is really a chronicle of Hayden’s life of running and the benefits he has received through the years and I always love personal stories for the people who live them.

Hayden makes the argument that “Running” or “Jogging” as he always refers to the sport as the most cost-effective sport that a person can participate in. He makes the statement that he has run in the same pair of shoes for 10 years. That is amazing but not unbelievable. i still occasionally run in a pair of shoes that I ran in 3 or 4 years ago without any problem. Maybe shoes today are like everything else, not made as well.

Anyway, his statement is true. Almost any pair of shoes, shorts and t-shirt will do when it comes to the sport of running. You can spend as much or as little as you desire and still run with the best of them.

Hayden’s main purpose in writing the book is that we should take care of our health. We should eat well, exercise sufficiently, and take care of the temple of the Holy Spirit.

“Why are some so urgently saying the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit so slow in caring for the function of that temple?” Hayden Gilmore

A good book and worth reading if you are interested see me and I will give you my copy.
