On Feb. 19-20, 353 persons representing 100 churches gathered at Cokesbury Center in Knoxville for the Holston Evangelism Conference. After hearing presentations by the Rev. Rudy Rasmus and the Rev. Bob Pierson, participants were led in worship by Bishop James Swanson.
Now, Holston members will join in a 90-day campaign to baptize 3,000 people by Pentecost Sunday. The campaign begins with 40 days of prayer (Feb. 23 to April 3), followed by 50 days of evangelism (Easter Sunday/April 4 through Pentecost Sunday/May 23).Ongoing information and resources will be provided at Holston.org and through The Call.
In the meantime, Bishop James Swanson appeals to Holston’s 904 churches in east Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and north Georgia to join this conference-wide effort beginning Tuesday, Feb. 23.
