In I Thessalonians 5:22 it says “abstain from every form of evil.” I don’t know how one can describe anything about Halloween other than evil. Where is God in Halloween? Christmas at least is centered around the birth of Christ, Halloween around evil activities. As we reflect God’s light to the world, how can we hide it in the darkness of Halloween? We should be shedding light on it, not celebrating it. We’re reaching the world for Christ, not for man, ghosts, goblins, witches, cute costumes. We can do this without embracing man’s or satan’s, whichever, celebrations. If we err, let’s err on the side of God.

Well Colossians 2:8 says “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philospophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of the world rather than on Christ.” So Christ should be who we look to please, not the “world”. That one verse sums up that whole discussion… (read the verse again)
