New Year 2011 Challenge and Opportunity

This year I challenged the church to read the New Testament through every 90 days and some have done that and been blessed immensely. In 2011 I am challenging that we read the entire Bible through from cover to cover. However we will read it a little different from tha standard.

The International Bible Society has done something that I am really excited about. They have taken the Bible and removed all of the “STUFF” man has put in. Like the headings, chapters and verses.

This is exciting because it allows us to be able to pick it up and read it like a novel. It will allow us to read it then meditate on what it is that God is saying to us and what He said to the people many years ago when He inspired it. The Bible is living and active and I want us to discover it new and fresh.

I have included more details for you to discover. If you want to take the challenge, let me know ASAP and I can order the “Books of the Bible” for you at a cost of $8.50 with shipping. I will place the order on December 20th in order to have them for the 1st of the year.

Blessings

Rediscover the Bible as it was meant to be read (TNIV Books of the Bible)

The Books of the Bible project encourages better Bible reading, particularly by emphasizing the reading of whole books. The result is an inviting and clean visual presentation of the Bible, in Today’s New International Version ( TNIV ), that can be understood and enjoyed more easily. The Books of the Bible differs from the format of most current Bibles in significant ways:

  • Chapter and verse numbers are removed from the text
(A chapter and verse range is given at the bottom of each page)
  • Each book’s natural literary breaks are shown instead
  • Text is presented in one column rather than two or more
  • Books that have historically been divided into parts are restored
  • Books are presented in an order that gives readers more help in understanding

I will print the following Bible Reading Plan for those who wish to walk through this awesome experience together.

The Whole Bible Experience
1 year (312 days, 6 days/week), average 15 minutes/day, all the books in the given order
