Book Notes: The 15 Invalualble Laws Of Growth by John Maxwell

I debated whether or not I should read this book because so many of Maxwell’s books, even-though they are great, are a rehash of prior books. Needless to say, I decided to read it after seeing a few comments on the book from other leaders and it is a game changer. Yes, there are some repeats from prior Maxwell writings but there is a lot of new and life changing material in this book.

I ordered it and read it on the way to Catalyst Conference in Atlanta and it messed me up. It has shaken me from my comfort zone once again and started me back on the path of even greater growth. Here are some notes on what the book is about.

  • The Law of the Mirror: You Must See Value in Yourself to Add Value to Yourself
  • The Law of Awareness: You Must Know Yourself to Grow Yourself
  • The Law of Modeling: It’s Hard to Improve When You Have No One But Yourself to Follow
  • The Law of the Rubber Band: Growth Stops When You Lose the Tension Between Where You are and Where You Could Be
  • The Law of Contribution: Developing Yourself Enables You to Develop Others

“Improving yourself daily guarantees you a future filled with possibilities.”

I plan to dig back through this book and work through the next year putting into place the things that I have learned. Do I recommend it? Absolutely, if you want to grow and have more satisfaction in your work and calling, read this book and put what you learn into action.
