2 Great Christmas Gifts: Pebble Watch and Jam Transit Ear Buds

I received a lot of great gifts this Christmas and here are two of them. The Pebble Watch and Jam Transit Wireless Ear buds.

The Pebble Watch is something that really surprised me. I quit wearing a watch years ago, I just didn’t have a need for it with a cell phone always on me. Plus I like the freedom of not wearing anything unnecessary. That’s the surprise, I picked this one out.  We were shopping just before Christmas and my mom had told me to pick something out and this caught my eye.

It works as a stand alone watch and it works through blue tooth to do lots of other things. There are several different watch faces to choose from and lots to download. I keep mine on the weather app just because I’m a geek like that. I like to know what the temperature is and what the forecast is. Anytime an email comes in, a facebook message, or a tweet, it will flash up on the screen. If there is a phone call coming in it will flash the caller across the screen. You can actually answer the call with the watch and with wireless ear buds you can actually talk to the caller.

I got a great surprise today when I went to run. I use “Map My Run” App on the iPhone to keep up with distance, time, and pace, and to my total surprise all the stats come up on the Pebble. It was awesome.

There are lots of apps that can be downloaded and used with the watch including one that will monitor your sleep patterns which sounds interesting. I just haven’t had the chance to experiment with many of them yet.

The watch is light and not cumbersome at all. It has lots of intriguing benefits, some I have already listed. It seems to many that having notifications pop up on the watch is pretty useless because you can’t respond on the watch. While this is true, the benefit is not having to go for your phone every time there is a notification. If you are in a meeting and you’re waiting to receive a call or email, you can see them without looking at your phone. If it is something you need you can take it or let it go without disturbing anyone.

The battery life is about 5 days which is great. Overall I love the watch and I have even enjoyed having the time on my wrist again.

Jam Transit Wireless Ear Buds

I received these from a friend and I love them. I like to listen to podcasts when I run and sometimes when I am working at home I use ear buds because of all the activity with 2 kids and a wife who loves to watch mystery shows.

They are wireless, the first pair I have ever owned and I love that feature. They are comfortable, fit the ear very well. They have clear sound with great volume. They work with the Pebble Watch to receive and make phone calls. They are good for about 6 hours of power before recharging. The best ear buds I have ever used, they pair through blue tooth with any enabled device.

The two together are Awesome!
