Jesus in the Box

This is the start of a NEW SERIES that I am starting at SNL this week. It is a work in progress but as you can see, the typical church building is often times the box that keeps us from doing the work that needs to be done. I just saw this past week where it cost the established church $5,000 to win one person to Jesus and the New Church Start only $1,475.

The reason behind it is, the established church is focused, charged with, has to maintain the facility and care for long term members where the new church start is focused on winning the lost and growing His Church.

Now, I am not saying that one is wrong, I believe they both have a place but we can certainly see the difference. Many new church plants today never intend to build a building, they are content with meeting in a rented location and then having small group meetings in homes or maybe in a much smaller facility that they own.

My main point is this, IN ORDER TO DO THE WORK WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO DO, WE HAVE TO LET JESUS OUT OF THE BOX IN WHICH WE HAVE PLACED HIM. Probably each of us has Jesus in some type of box. We have an idea of how things should be done and what works and we just plant ourselves in that box, when in reality Jesus (God) works in many and various ways and many times we miss God’s best because we can’t see out of the box.

Come Sunday at 6:30pm to SNL and find out more.
