A Lot Has Happened in Two Years

Misty and I were married two years ago today. We had a beautiful Celebration at FUMC Hillsville with so many of our friends. It truly was a memorable time as we involved as many people as we possibly could. We had talked about the fact that we both wanted children and we decided early on that the first boy would be named Samuel after Samuel in the Bible because of the fact that he was dedicated to the Lord even before his birth. We will never forget it, we left town for our honeymoon and spent the night near Charlotte and attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church the next morning. The pastor opened the service with a baby dedication and his opening words were “Just as Hannah dedicated her son to the Lord”. I looked at Misty and said “It is prophetic, you are pregnant”.

You know the rest of the story, Samuel was born 9 months later. He is an awesome child and every day draws us closer to the Lord because of the blessing He has given to us. Not only did God give us Samuel but two weeks after Samuel was born our granddaughter Victoria was born, another blessing from God. But that is not the end of the story. This year our great nephew Ethan was born and then in June Kyle came to live with us. If all progresses as planned we will adopt Kyle in December.

Wow, a lot has changed in two years and I wouldn’t change a thing. I can’t wait to see what God has for us in 2009 and beyond. Our next child is due June 1st but I believe this child will be born May 25th. It is just a gut feeling. Who knows when the next adoption could happen. We wait with excitement to see how God will allow us to care for those in need. Misty and I look forward to growing old together, with our family.
