Myrtle Beach SC is one of my most favorite places in the World. Over the years I have grown tired of all of the commercialism that appears there. I have also grown tired of the lack of hospitality that is many times received in the Hotel Industry there. My family and I have stayed in many places and more times than not when we have experienced a problem, it has been handled poorly. All of that is for another blog. I can’t remember for sure which year I first ran this Marathon and the results are not search-able like the Rock “N” Roll Marathons. This is a great event and I recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the accomplishment of such a feat. It is of course a flat and fast race, however if you are slower like me, that works too. The hospitality of the Marathon Crew is great, there are lots of water stops and music along the way to keep you going. You don’t get to see a lot of the Ocean, only a few miles in the early part of the race. I have a goal of finding a place for my race memorabilia in 2009 and then I will know the dates and times for these runs. I am not planning to run this one in 2009. I have realized with Seminary, Provisional Elder work and a very busy ministry, and the winter, I am am just not training enough to be ready for 26.2 miles.
