The weight of the world, lifted

This past week on Thursday I turned in my final project for Seminary. It is like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders. First you need to know that Seminary is one of the best things that I have ever done. I have learned so much about the Bible and how to study the Bible. It was through the Seminary that I traveled to Egypt and Israel for 16 days. I have made some great friends and some who will be lifelong friends. It has been a great experience for me and I recommend that everyone who has the opportunity, go.

However, It has been difficult to do the reading that is required for every class (thousands of pages) to write the papers and also to attend the weekend classes. Combine the school work with a marriage, 4 children, 2 grandchildren, a home and yard to keep up and add to all this a full time pastoral ministry that is very active in sharing the gospel and it has been difficult.

There have been times when I felt that I wasn’t doing anything very well and there have been times when I felt things were well under control. The first 3 years were the best, lots of fun and felt great. The last year has been hard. There have been so many times that I have almost said its time for a break but I just couldn’t stand the thought of laying it aside until it was finished. Matter of fact one of my main thoughts for the past year has been, I just want to be finished.

I have learned so much and I am so thankful for the experience and I may even go and do a DMIN someday, but it will be a while.

It is finished!

If all goes as planned, my Masters Degree will be conferred in January and I will walk in Graduation Ceremonies May 15th 2010.

The weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders.

Congratulations Ronnie, I know it’s hard work, but I admire how you have managed to keep time to spend with your family as well.
