| Evangelism Conference
February 19 & 20, 2010
Cokesbury UMC, Knoxville
The Holston Evangelism Conference will be held Feb. 19-20 at Cokesbury Center in Knoxville, Tenn. Speakers include Holston’s own Bishop James Swanson and the Rev. Rudy Rasmus, senior pastor at St. John’s UMC in Houston, Texas. Rasmus led his congregation from nine members in 1992 to 9,000 today. Also appearing is the Rev. Bob Pierson, Oklahoma pastor and author of “Needs-Based Evangelism: Becoming a Good Samaritan Church.”

Christian Educators Fellowship (CEF) Retreat
Rest ~ Renew ~ Revitalize, Body, Mind & Spirit
February 21-23, 2010
Oak Tree Lodge, Sevierville, TN
Retreat: to withdraw; to rest; a place of restoration, a place to set aside to recuperate, regenerate and revitalize; a haven; a refuge; a sanctuary. We need to retreat, regularly. Doing our best means being at our best and the only way to do this is to honor our needs for rest and renewal.
Imagine yourself as a jug of water pouring out your water anywhere it is needed. Eventually, the water runs out unless you take the time to replenish it. Isn’t it time you thought seriously about recharging your batteries and filling yourself back up again? It is time for a retreat!

March Forth for Children – Spiritual Building Blocks

March Forth 2010 focuses on spiritual foundations. The four building blocks we have identified are the basis for this event and for individual faith formation as well. Workshops are grouped into four categories: Come, Grow, Share and Serve. Each of these building blocks is an essential component of faith formation.

Jubilation 2010 – “Living Abundantly”

MeadowView Conference Center, Kingsport, TN
Jubilation 2010 is the tenth annual gathering of senior adults in the Holston Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. The stated vision of Jubilation is to provide a ministry for senior adults, aged 55 and over, that nurtures spiritual growth, provides educational opportunities and ways to cope with life issues, promotes involvement in missions, and enhances Christian fellowship. This program was made possible from an initial grant from the Margaret Loving Trust managed by the Holston Conference Foundation, Inc. and a generous grant from Asbury, Inc.
