Romans 12: 3-8 and Out of the Box

I was reading the scripture today on my journey to read the New Testament through every 90 days and this was in today’s reading. Romans chapter 12, I looked and I thought, wow this relates well to what the Youth are experiencing at Out of the Box right now.

We recently went to Resurrection in Pigeon Forge and we came away with a group of young adults (teens) that understand that God has called us to work together as a body. Each one has a place to operate at Out of the Box. Operate in Ministry that is.

Romans 12: 3-8

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

We came away with youth who told me they believe they are supposed to be part of a Praise Band that needs to be formed at Out of the Box.

There are those who told me prayer was the ministry God has called them to and they are going to spend more time praying for the people and ministries of Out of the Box.

There are those who believe that God is calling them into a ministry of Drama for Out of the Box.

There are those who feel they have been called into the ministry of Speaking (Preaching) and teaching.

There are still others that are searching to discover exactly what it is God wants them to do.

God is at work in the people of Out of the Box, where does He want you to serve?

My prayer for the youth at OOTB comes from Romans 12: 1-2…to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may PROVE what is the will of God, what is good, and acceptable and perfect. I pray that they will stand FIRM with Christ Jesus as thier focus, that they will stand united in Christ with their Christian brothers and sisters by thier side to lift them up, to encourage them, to teach them, to listen, to pray, to discipline, to give all the glory to God in the highest. I pray for OOTB youth to have open ears, eyes and hearts to hear God’s call on thier lives and to willingly embrace all that HE has to offer-even when it doesn’t make sense! In thier obedience to GOD, they will turn the world upside down for Jesus! I also pray for all the people involved in this ministry to be filled with an urgency and a passion to keep the light burning for Christ-to fan the flame and never let it go out- to keep passing the torch to the front of the lines. There is much work to be done for the Kingdom of God. May God bless you and keep you strong!
Stay in love with the One who loves you!
    A prayer warrior,
    Donna
