Fasting Journal Day 32

People are asking why I am not as active online the past few days and the honest truth is that my energy is getting less and less. For the first 20 days of the fast I had plenty of energy and could go 8 hours with no problems and even pull a couple of 12 hour days without problems. However, now about every 2 hours I am ready for a rest. I am still pulling my load and putting in the hours for ministry and I still manage to be with the family but it is becoming more difficult with each passing day.

I am trying to get a short nap each afternoon and that helps tremendously. I am really surprised because I was told that I would sleep less and less as the fast moved along but so far that has not been the case. I have lost 36 pounds, my body feels at rest, I am experiencing no problems, no headaches, nothing. Lots of people around me have been sick with colds and viruses including my Samuel and my granddaughter Victoria and still I haven’t been bothered with it. Still at day 32 I have yet to be hungry, simply amazing.

At the time I write this I am well into day 33, at this point I have 7 days to go in the fast. I plan to break the fast on Saturday evening, one week from today, this will complete my 40 days. Every day now I will likely have something like a V8 in the am and a broth in the evening in order to be able to work and do what needs to be accomplished during this last week. It is Holy Week and we have services Sunday night through Thursday Night so it is a busy week.

God is at work, lots of prayers are being answered, it is unmistakable. I am encouraged and I desire everyone’s prayers for strength these last 7 days of the fast.
