The most unused space around is the church property

Many churches have great kitchen facilities, nice playgrounds, plenty of meeting spaces, class rooms, nursery’s, multi media capabilities, and much more. Why not make it available to your community?

There are always groups who are looking for a place to meet, such as: Weight Watchers, Boy Scouts, Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Piano Teachers, Voice Instructors, Community Colleges, Business Planners, Community Parenting Groups, etc…

Why not offer your church facilities to these folks in order to show Radical Hospitality. Now there may be a group that needs your facility real often and they may need to help with power bills etc, but for the most part I believe we should be opening our facilities to the community free of charge. What better way to expose our ministries and Jesus to the world around us?

I know, there are folks who are going to stress out over the carpet getting dirty, hand prints on the walls, furniture being broken or stained. That is why we have new carpet, carpet installers, paint and painters. I am in no way making light of the money it takes and the hard-working people it takes to keep things looking nice BUT, it is not about us who are already in the church. NO, it is about those who do not know Christ and His Love!

What is a Soul Worth?

If you want to reach your community, open up your facility, free of charge. Make repairs and janitorial services part of your missions budget.

Charlie, you are right, it totally slipped my mind. Another great one is Celebrate Recovery. And support groups for many causes. Thanks for the reminder.
