Proverbs 3:15 GWT
Wisdom is more precious than jewels, and all your desires cannot equal it.
Our family has had the opportunity to get away for the past few days and just relax, as much as you can relax with a 2 yr old, two 3 year olds, and a 4-year-old. However, it has been a getaway from the hustle and bustle of work and everyday life and it has been valuable. I would say it has been a stroke of Wisdom.
I realized that after putting countless days into starting a new church and all of the busyness that comes with such an undertaking that I was just living on the edge or just over the surface of the water. It was time to take a break. During this time away I have read a couple of books and I am working on more, reading is what I do to learn and to relax as well as to search for Wisdom.
One of the things I have decided on this trip is to not read anything until I have read Scripture each New Day. I always read scripture but often times the newspaper will be first or a good book. Yesterday I started reading in Proverbs and I believe I will be camped here for a good long while. This text this morning says there is nothing more valuable than Wisdom. We need to focus our energy on how to find and exercise Wisdom more than we focus on paying the bills, more than we focus on what we can buy next, more than we focus on how to spend retirement.
This scripture says this to me, all of those desires, the things you think you can’t live without, if you just had wisdom, you should understand and you would be satisfied.
Search for Wisdom today and Proverbs is the place to start.

Proverbs 3:16 appears to say that Wisdom first brings success in all of life.
Long life is in wisdom’s right hand. In wisdom’s left hand are riches and honor.
Proverbs 3:18
Wisdom is a tree of life for those who take firm hold of it. Those who cling to it are blessed.
