I was surprised this morning when I called to confirm a Doctors appointment. I recently had a place removed from my ear that turned out to be Melanoma Cancer. Due to the status of this it was recommended that more skin be removed from my ear. I thought the visit today was just a consultation for the new surgeon to take a look at the ear and assess the situation and then make an appointment for me to return to have the work completed.
I was surprised when I was informed that today was the day for the excision, I was fine but a little unprepared. I went to the appointment and that lasted longer than expected, the end result, no excision. It was decided that the best plan of action is to do a lymph node biopsy.
The chances are good that what was removed is all that there is but we all agreed it is best to be sure. Research is being done now to determine who I should see at one of the major hospitals in Winston Salem and I should have an appointment scheduled by the end of this week.
I will keep you updated and I appreciate all the prayers you can offer.

So sorry you had a “wasted” day!!! If Gator or I can be of any help, we are only a phone call away. I believe in God’s healing, and I know in my heart you will be fine, but I am glad you are investigating further. It’s such a shame that you have to be your own advocate now-a-days when it comes to medical stuff, but you really do!
Forgot to mention yesterday, Gator saw a dermatologist in Mt Airy his last visit – one that is associated with Baptist. He might be a good reference for you too! I will look his name up when I get home and send it to you.
