We started 2011 with a dream and lots of prayers and support from the people of First United Methodist Church. We started with 37 names of people on a page who said they wanted to come downtown and start a new place for new people and now look what God has done.

We finished the year with 51 new members of FUMC Hillsville through Out of the Box Worship Center. We also finished with an average worship attendance above 200 people each week. Some people ask, are the numbers important and I say they are of utmost importance. Numbers represent people worshiping the Lord, numbers represent the new people who have found Christ because we are here, numbers represent the people who have been baptized, numbers represent the people who have found freedom from bondage, and numbers represent the people who will spend eternity in heaven because of Jesus Christ. Numbers are important because they represent the ones that God has reached through us at Out of the Box Worship Center.
