There is a time for everything and today it is time to mourn.
Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pull out what was planted, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build up, a time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to hug and a time to stop hugging, a time to start looking and a time to stop looking, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear apart and a time to sew together, a time to keep quiet and a time to speak out, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
I don’t have adequate words to describe how I feel right now. My heart is beyond broken, it is crushed.
Church, it is time that we come together and fight satan and the forces of hell like never before.
The details are still coming in, as many as 27 dead, many of them kindergartners.
I have just spent the entire day with mine and Misty’s kindergartner, our granddaughter, and our nephew who are all kindergartners We love these kids more than we love our own lives, matter of fact I would lay down my life for any of the 50 or so kids and teachers that I spent the day with. Our teachers are such special and awesome people. We feel that we have some of the very best working with our own kids.
Fast forward to what I do with my life. I am a pastor, I lead a church that is absolutely awesome, I love my people, God’s people. I also work with churches on a lot of levels being in a denomination with many churches and having a rich history in church work.
I am calling on the people that I lead and the ones that are connected to me in any way. It is time for the Church to rise up and battle satan. It is time that we lay aside our petty differences and focus on fighting satan. It is time that we put away our likes and dislikes when it comes to worship styles, music styles, preaching styles, etc.
It is time that we put away our desires to live our lives our way and ignore God’s ways.
It is time that God is put first in our lives and not a side note in our lives.
We are a nation who has forgotten God and it is time that we get serious about this battle.
What are we going to do different?
What are you willing to do differently?
2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT
14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 15 My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.
I appreciate your comments . It’s very important to have spiritual support in times of tragedy.
Ronnie,
I was at Hillsville First mid day and didn’t hear about this until I got home about 2:30. After two hours of watching the news coverage I had to turn off the TV. Too much pain to take on. I drove a school bus for Indian Valley Elementary for 2 years while I was a caregiver. I fell in love with those kids, especially the kindergartners and 1st graders who were so vulnerable and in need of comfort. As I watched the news coverage the images of those wonderful, loving children flooded my brain and my heart broke. I wanted to drive to Indian Valley and give them all one more hug but alas school was already over.
I can’t begin to imagine the pain and suffering that is going through that community. I can pray for God’s comfort and peace to envelope them and draw them close. Our prayers are the most powerful tools we have against Satan’s plans and actions. As we hug our children and grandchildren we need to pray that God’s blessings be upon that community.
