Hebrews 7

Who is Melchizedek?

Genesis chapter 14 is the first reference to Melchizedek and in that reference he is The King of Salem and Salem means Peace, so he is the King of Peace. In Hebrews 7:2, king of Righteousness is added.

The next reference is in Psalm 110: 1-4.

Here is what Paul goes on to say in Hebrews.

Abraham gave him a tenth of everything.

Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!

If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?

Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;24 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.

It would appear that Melchizedek is an appearance of Christ in the Old Testament.

Hebrews 9

Where is the Ark of The Covenant and why hasn’t it been found?

There is a rich history of those looking for the Ark of the Covenant and no one has been successful and by the way they never will be. Regardless of what you have heard, the Ark of the Covenant is in Heaven,

Revelation 11:19

19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

Hebrews 11

Faith

Faith is…

Confidence that even though we can see Heaven, eternal life, it is there.

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Faith is taking God at his word, even when it seems impossible and impractical.

Noah built the Ark without ever having experienced rain and without ever knowing what a boat was. Because God told him to.

God told Abraham to leave his home and family without giving Abraham a detailed plan and Abraham went on faith that God knew what was best for him.

Faith is a confidence that even when things seem grim, God is in control and we may lose a few battles but God has won the war. Keep fighting the good fight.
