Colossians 3:1-4 NLT
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
Heaven is REAL! The problem is, we get so busy with this life, paying bills, working to have the money to pay the bills, relationships, families, hobbies, STUFF, we don’t often think about the REALITY of heaven.
I have found however, the older I get, the more loved ones that I lose to death, the more pains and trials that I face, I think about heaven more and more. As a matter of fact, I have come to the conclusion that if it were not for hardships, we would never think about heaven. This world would be our heaven. Sad to say, for some people, they are trying without success for very long to make this heaven. It will never happen. Death is 100% sure and where there is death, that’s not heaven.
The problem is that many people through the years have speculated about what life after this world will be like and very few have checked the Bible to see what God has to say about what life for eternity will be like. It is shocking what people believe. It is surprising what people don’t know is right there in the scriptures. It is amazing that so many people choose to believe myths and lies about where they will spend eternity.
Simply Amazing.
Tomorrow I will speak about the subject of Heaven, about the lies that have been told, about the myths that have been believed. But finally, I will share with you some of the truths of Gods Word and what we can know about our eternal home. You will be amazed and surprised. You might just begin to think about Heaven more.
Revelation 21:1-7 NLT
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
5 And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” 6 And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. 7 All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.
I can’t wait, but there is work to do until this time. Lets tell the world, staring in our own communities.
