It was a great day at Out Of The Box. I was blessed to have the day off and David Payne preached his first sermon ever at OOTBWC. I can say it is the best 1st sermon I have ever heard. It was a solid biblical message and one that we can meditate on for the week and gain great insight. It was Labor Day Weekend and our numbers were down as they always are that week but not much as usual, we had 190 people in worship and I am pleased with that.
Here are some of my favorite takeaways from David’s message.
“If your faith isn’t in Jesus Christ then the Storms of Life will sink you.” David Payne
“The times we don’t feel God is near are the times we need to trust him the most. “
Preparation is essential for successfully maneuvering life’s storms. Prayer, Study, Discipline.
“Just as Jesus commanded the storm to be still, we must still our souls to hear God speak in the midst of our storm.”
“Get out of the boat, keep your eyes and faith focused on Jesus and you will accomplish GREAT things.”
“Are we like the disciples, do we take our storms to Jesus and then stand AMAZED when God Calms Them?”
It was a great Sunday morning and this is not the last you will hear from David, it is only the beginning of something great that God is doing.
