Book Notes: Overwhelmed by Perry Noble

overwhelmed

I picked this book up from Tyndale House Publishers as a review copy and wanted to share my thoughts on the book.

I like Perry Noble, I like to hear the sermons he preaches because I believe that he is real and that he speaks the truth. As I read this book I was reminded of myself a lot because I was able to see how preachers and Christians live in the real world. There is no facade here, Perry shares the truth of how as a successful church planter, pastor, and preacher he became overwhelmed.

He was loaded down with stress, a busy schedule, and lots of other life happenings that have no schedule, they simply just happen and it seems most of the time at just the wrong time as well.

Throughout the book Perry points us back to Jesus. If we will focus on Christ and the truths of scripture then we will not become overwhelmed.

If you have ever wore yourself out trying to be the person you think others expect you to be, you need this book.

If you have ever loaded your schedule to the point you wanted to run and hide, then this book is for you.

If you have ever worried that you needed to do more for God and the Kingdom in order for Him to love you, this book is for you.

If worry is just part of your make up, you definitely would benefit from reading this book.

I give it 5 of 5 stars.

By the way, you may already know this but God doesn’t grade on a curve. He isn’t waiting for you to do something wrong so he can slap you into shape, He loves you and He doesn’t want you to be overwhelmed.
