The Great Commission: What is that All About?

The Great Commission: Matthew 28:19-20

(from The Message) Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”

Here is our situation;

There are over 400,000 foreign missionaries in the world today. Approximately one-third of the 6 Billion people on the earth are Christians.

If our present World were represented by a village of 100 people here is how it would look.

    57 people would be Asian, 21 would be European, 14 would come for the Western Hemisphere (both North and South) and 8 would be

    African.

52 would be female

70 would be non-white

6 people would possess 59% of the entire world’s wealth; all six of them would live in the United States

80 would live in substandard housing

70 would not be able to read

50 would suffer malnutrition; one would be near death; one near birth

Only one would have a college education

Only one would own a computer

Only 30 would be Christian

There is much work to be done in the worldwide missionary endeavor;  Are you following Jesus command or is this the Great Omission for you?

    IT IS ONE AWESOME RESPONSIBILITY!
