On September 24th students around Carroll, Galax and Garyson Counties will gather around the Flag Pole at their respective schools and pray for their schools, students, staff and communities. On September 21st we will host a SYATP Rally at the Carroll County Fair Grounds from 4pm until about 5:30pm with SouledOut and Ronnie G. Collins. This is new for 2008. On September 24th 2008 while our students are gathered to pray, I would like to invite all community adults and college students to gather at FUMC Downtown “Out of the Box” for a time of prayer of our own. Parents, Teachers, Youth Ministers, Pastors, Police Officers, Public Officials and anyone else who would like to join us. The Downtown Building will be open at 6am with coffee and refreshments for everyone. We will have a list of students who have signed up with their first name who have asked us to pray for them specifically. There will be a time of fellowship and then at 7am we will have a joint time of prayer as the students prepare to take a stand at their local schools.
Lets turn out and demonstrate for the youth that we are there in support of the hard work they do each year to carry out SYATP and weekly FCA meetings. Lets gather and pray for the youth of our community and for a revival that will turn this community back to God.
We will need to know if you plan to come in order to plan appropriately. You can show your support by leaving a comment here to say you will stand with us at “Out of the Box” on September 24th or you can e-mail, call the church office, facebook or myspace to let me know.
We are excited to see just what God will do with a group of adults that join together to pray for the future leaders of this great community.
