Souper Bowl of Caring HUGE SUCCESS

I will blog more later but for the moment I want to say that Souper Bowl of Caring at Out Of The Box was a HUGE SUCCESS last night. There were 125 people in attendance at our Main Street Location with more food than people could possibly eat and lots of can and dry goods were collected for our Food Pantry. I will have financial Totals for you before the day is out.

Here is what I want to say in this post. My hat is off to the dedicated Youth Leaders that we have here at First United Methodist Church Hillsville. Jeff, Greg, Lori and Terry are a blessing beyond measure. They all put in long hours and lots of hard work to make “Out Of The Box” a place that the youth of Hillsville can call home. Not just our youth but any youth that wants to be a part of this hangout crowd.

I was really bummed that I was not able to be at the party last night but it wasn’t because I had any concerns that things wouldn’t be done well. I knew without a doubt that things were in capable and blessed hands. I understand that things went without a problem as I knew they would. My hat is off to the youth leaders at First Hillsville.

I could not do what God has called me to do with this church, the youth ministry and the ministry in general without the awesome team that God has put together among us.

Well it was an awesome night. The food was outstanding, and SouledOut, or at least THIS member of SouledOut, had a fantastic time playing. Chris delivered a dynamite message, all the youth of both churches mingled together, there was a lot of spirited talk between fans of both teams, but at the end of the night, we all left brothers and sisters.
I am so thankful that I go to a church where Out of The Box can even happen.

I just want to thank all the youth leaders for everything they do. Going to the FUMC youth has really helped me grow in my walk with God and I know I never would have got where I am without the church and the youth leaders. You all are always there for us no matter what we need and you always challenge us to be better people. You have challenged me to not live life just getting by but to live it to the extreme and not take anything for granted. You have made our group what it is today. You helped create the bonds that we have and that will continue to grow! Thank you so much for everything!

I am so blessed to be in such an awesome youth group. We are literally like a huge family! And without our youth leaders, none of that would be possible. They do so much for us and I’m really thankful. Thank you so much for everything you do!

Y’all are so awesome! I love you guys so much and want to thank you for everything. Without you guys, there wouldn’t be an out of the box, there wouldn’t be all of these opportunities that we have. You have all come to be like family to me and I can never thank you enough for all that you do

I have to agree with you about the blessing of youth leaders at FUMC. We are blessed to have people who will follow God’s leading and affect others for Jesus Christ. And I don’t even have a child in the Senior youth! But, I can see their lives and their efforts and how they affect others and the ministries of the church. THANK YOU Ronnie, Jeff, Terry, Greg and Lori!
Also, we have GREAT Tweens leaders in Gator and Stephanie!! I sometimes ask myself why FUMC is so blessed with so many awesome people, and then I realize that it is because they are willing to follow God’s lead instead of their own! As long as we continue to do that, it will be one ride!!!!
