Mason King and I took a trip up to Liberty Mountain yesterday to check out the school and see if that is where he would like to continue his education in the Fall of 2010. We had a great trip and even got to meet with the Football Recruiter for The Liberty Flames. Liberty is an awesome school with so many opportunities and that doesn’t start to touch all of the fun things to do there. I graduated from LU in 2004 and I was amazed at how the place has grown, it is tremendous. If any of the rest of you in Carroll are looking at Liberty, let me know and we will plan a trip.

Below are pictures of the burial site of Dr. Jerry Falwell. It was an honor for me to be able to tell Mason a little bit of the history of Liberty and Thomas Road Church. Many people, especially those who are not in the Baptist church and under 20 years of age have no clue who Jerry Falwell is and what he accomplished with The Lords help in his time here on earth. It was a lot!
It was an honor for me to be able to visit the site as I really wanted to go to the funeral service and was not able. Dr. Falwell was an inspiration as well as a friend.
The first picture is his office just as he left it the morning he died. It has a humble place where many prayers were offered on behalf of millions through the years.
Glad to hear you all had a good time. Can’t wait to hear more about it tonight at youth! I know that several other people in the group are looking at Liberty and think it would be an awesome idea to schedule another trip…I honestly don’t have any idea where I want to go or what I want to do so invite me too!
Kallie, I was amazed at the changes. If some youth would like to go who are rising seniors we could even schedule an entire weekend there. At the least we could go and spend the entire day. It is awesome! Every person should at least give it a look and pray about it.
