Sharon L. Bowers has been teaching and preaching since 1977 and in full-time ministry since1987. She is the founder and CEO of Character Based Leadership Institute, Inc. an innovative leadership and personal development ministry helping Christians and others lead and live with character.
Rev. Bowers is a highly sought after motivational speaker, licensed minister and teacher with a Masters Degree in Sociology. She is currently working on a Maters of Divinity at the Interdenominational Theological Center, Gammon United Methodist Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia and has completed 18 hours toward a PhD at the University of Miami.
Most recently, Rev. Bowers, began working with Bishop James. E. Swanson of the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church on various committees at the conference level and was instrumental in leading the revitalization of the Black Methodist for Church Renewal Holston Conference Chapter.
Sharon has preached on several continents and has taught on hundreds of subjects in meetings all over the country, helping many to experience the abundant life through personal character development. She has authored several books to help the body of Christ be better leaders through personal growth and development. Rev. Bowers also has worked for several Fortune 500 corporations, the United States Government, school districts, non-profit organizations, private for profit businesses and many state agencies. She has also served for various colleges and universities as adjunct professor of Sociology.
Sharon is the Senior Pastor of a two point charge in Marion County Tennessee, Randolph UMC and Wells UMC, a student at Gammon Theological Seminary in Atlanta Georgia and is currently working on the release of her new book, “Leadership Lessons Of The Little Red Hen: Discovering Your Divine Purpose”.
