This picture was taken on my blackberry so it doesn’t do the beauty of the day justice but it is better than nothing. After Clergy meeting this morning I stopped on top of Draper Mountain and spent some time meditating and thinking about what God is doing in the world around me. I spent some time reading and studying the Spiritual Discipline of Fasting. I see the beauty of this day like the beauty of our relationship with our Creator. Here are some Thoughts.
Fasting is misunderstood much like running a Marathon
Most people think Fasting and running a marathon is an unreachable goad
Therefore they never do either.
Most people think that both are too much of a sacrifice.
Therefore they never attempt either.
Most see only the pain and hard work in both.
Therefore they miss the rewards.
Most have heard stories of people dying while doing these things.
Therefore they miss the health benefits.
