Book Review: Wesley for Armchair Theologians by William J. Abraham

I read this book for the first time in 2006 when I was digging for information that was written in contemporary language and related to Wesley. I just read it for a 2nd time. This is a great book for anyone interested in understanding more about who John Wesley was and what he believed and taught.

The book is easy to read and not that long but full of great information.

Learn what Wesley meant by prevenient grace, you will seldom if ever hear this term outside of Methodism.

Learn what Wesley thought about a person being able to live a holy life.

Learn where works comes into our Christian life and how it relates to our salvation.

Lots of good historical information written in a way that is easy to follow and understand.

There is not a lot of depth on any subject but a great overview of what we as Methodists believe.
