Reminders Week 1: God Loves You

Post It Note – One of the best inventions of all time – Because we need reminders

(One of the saddest things in the world is this: some of you love God so much but you feel like you are not loved by God. You feel like you have been so bad that God can’t possibly love you) That is a lie of Satan, it comes from the pit of hell and it smells like smoke.

4 Ways God Reminds Us Of His Love

#1. Creation

Psalm 19:1-6

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.

God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.
The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat.

God has made Himself obvious in Creation!

Psalm 139: 13-15

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

Lamentations 3:22-23

22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
23 Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.

Every morning the sun comes up again – that is a reminder that God has not forgotten you and that He loves you.

#2. The People That We Meet

Who did God use to bring you to Christ?

Who is it that brought you to this church?

Who is it that told you about Christ?

Who was it that took you to church as a child?

You didn’t get here on your own, other people play a role in your relationship to Christ.

Found People Find People

Jesus said in Mark 1, Follow me and you will fish for people.

#3. Circumstances

Circumstances change our lives.

#4. Jesus is the 4th Sticky Note to remind you that God loves you.

Romans 5:8

If you ever doubt God’s love, look to the blood stained cross.

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Salvation is not something God gives to good people. Salvation is something God gives to those who trust him.

Because of Creation, and because of Other People, and because of Circumstances, and because of Jesus, you can know that God loves you.
