WHAT IS GIVING ABOUT?

• Giving has NOTHING to do with MONEY

                               BUT…

• Giving has EVERYTHING to do with personal spiritual growth
• Giving has EVERYTHING to do with Personal Discipline, and giving is a Means of Grace
• Giving has everything to do with Discipleship to Jesus Christ
• Giving is all about GRACE…God’s to us and ours to others
• Giving grows as faith grows…the two work together….never separately

• The Financial health of a church is a direct reflection of the church’s SPIRITUAL health
• Generosity is a Fruit of the Holy Spirit
• Tithing (10% of one’s income) is a consistent Biblical theme and an expression of our trust
  in God’s providence.

• United Methodists are in the top 1/3 of the population in affluence
• United Methodists are 28^th of the top 30 denominational groups in giving
• United Methodists are 46^th among the top 63 denominations
