Jesus Understands Your Pain!

God Loves You!

We hear that a lot but I often wonder how much we do to help people understand just how much God really does love them.

I preached at the Holy Week Services this year and the overwhelming thought on my mind during those days was How is it that God shows His love to us? I remember praying as I went to preach that particular evening and saying, God I don’t know what to say to these people. There will be people there who are hurting; those who are struggling with their failing marriages, those who have sickness, God I don’t know what to tell them.

God said, “Tell them that I love them”. Now, I know that some will say, did God really say that to you. I believe that He spoke that to my spirit, louder than words. I said to God, how I show them that love and the answer came.

God loved us so much that he sent his son Jesus to LIVE in this world and then DIE for our sin. That is right, Jesus lived in this world just like you and I live in this world. He was born, although he was conceived of The Holy Spirit, he was still born the way that you and I are. He grew up just as you and I grow up. He played with the neighborhood children, his parents got upset with him, he became a teenager, he had friends, he had a relationship with his mom and dad like you and I do. Jesus understands what it is like to be human.

The Bible says that He was tempted in every way as we are tempted. You see the sin is not in the temptation but in giving in to that temptation. Jesus never gave in; he was the perfect sacrifice for our wrong doing.

Jesus grew to be a young man and we don’t have a lot of history, but we have enough to tell us that Jesus (God) became one of us so that he would understand the pain that we go through.

Jesus understands what it is like for family and friends not to believe in you. He understands what it is like to be betrayed by a close friend. He understands temptation. He understands hunger. He understands losing good friends to death. He understands what it is like to be spit on and cursed, but he never spit or cursed in response.

And finally Jesus understands what it is like to be physically beaten so badly that he was likely unrecognizable.

Jesus understands your pain!

This video is amazing, watch as Jesus is human and grows into a man, watch as he splashes water in Mary’s face just playing around. Watch as Mary grieves in anguish as her little boy has to suffer such an excruciating death.
