A letter from Pastor Ronnie to Out of the Box Worship Center – January 26th, 2014

It has been a while since I have written a letter to you but I will explain that in a separate post. Today was an awesome day of worship at OOTBWC. It is exciting to be the pastor of a group of people who are not afraid to dance and shout before the Lord.  Every week is so great but every week we just seem to get a little more excited. The Spirit is alive and well in each one of you.

We are in week 3 of The Daniel Plan and we are learning about taking better care of ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. People are learning things they never dreamed was in the Bible. God cares how we treat our body. God the Holy Spirit lives in our body. Jesus died for our body. And one day God will raise our body to eternal life.

Today we learned about making Godly goals.

1. Goal-setting is a spiritual discipline.

Like prayer, fasting, giving, meditation, Goal setting is a Spiritual Discipline.

“You can waste your life, you can spend your life, or you can invest your life.” Rick Warren

God plans to bring all of history to its goal in Christ. Then Christ will be the head of everything in heaven and on earth!” Eph.1:10 (GW)

2. Goals focus my energy. 

 “I do not run without a goal. I fight like a boxer who is hitting something—not just the air.”        1 Cor. 9:26 (NCV)

“Go after first things and you get second things thrown in. Go after second things and lose it all.” C.S. Lewis

Goals focus my energy to do the most important things in life. 

Make the most of every opportunity for doing good in these evil days.”   Eph. 5:16 (NLT)

3.  Goals stretch my faith.

“According to your faith will it be done to you.” Matt. 9:29 (NIV)

4. Goals build my character.

“The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.” Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Paul: “I do not claim that I’ve already succeeded or have already become perfect. I keep striving toward the goal for which Christ Jesus has won me to himself.” Phil. 3:12 (TEV)

God’s # 1 Goal in your life is not to make us happy. God’s #1 goal is to make us like Christ.

Then we will be mature, just as Christ is, and we will be completely like him.”  Eph. 4:13 (CEV)

5.  Goals give me hope.

Job: “I do not have the strength to endure. I do not have a goal that encourages me to carry on.” Job 6:11 (NLT)

“The plans I have for you are plans to prosper you, not to harm you. They are plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11 (NIV)

 Make Some Godly Goals and Make The Most of 2014
