Day 3 of 40 Day Fast 2012

I Corinthians 9:27

27 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

It has been a great day, very little fatigue. I worked a full day, walked a mile, read a bunch, and I played scrabble with Misty again. (2 hours, Lots of good husband points)

Weight 210.2 pounds

God has been screaming (in a good way) in my ears all day, and here is what He is saying.

Habits – We are addicted to food! Our eating patterns are bad habits and we need to break them. We live to eat rather than eating to live. We are undisciplined and we are sick because of it.

I have not been hungry and this is day 3, but I have wanted to eat. We eat for so many wrong reasons.

#1. We think we have to have 3 squares a day. Its a myth!

#2. Habit

#3. Addiction. That’s right we have “Foodaholics” just like we have alcoholics. We can’t stop the cravings, so we over eat and we eat the wrong things.

Romans 16: 17-20

17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.

Philippians 3: 17-21

17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

Who or what has control of you? Who is your God?

Ronnie
