The Greatest Sin In America – What is it?

I have received lots of messages the past few days related to our commitment to love everybody where I serve as the pastor. I serve by the way at Out of the Box in Hillsville Virginia. When we say that we will love you we mean that. It really doesn’t matter where you have been or what you have done. Everybody needs to be shown that Jesus loves them, no matter who you are.

The problem comes when the world knows us in the church as the people who hate homosexuals. By the way, we do not hate anyone. Here is my point and I want to make it as clear as I possibly can.

Every person ever created is a sinner in need of help.

Jesus died for the sin of the world.

Jesus plus nothing will get you to heaven. This includes your good works.

As humans we are all guilty of pointing out the sin in other peoples lives and ignoring our own.

In our ignorance of the Bible we have come to believe the sin of _____________ is worse than another sin. The Bible says that sin is sin, is sin, is sin. It does not matter what sin one commits, that sin makes us a candidate for hell without Jesus.

Salvation is immediate but our relationship with Jesus is a process.

If anyone is without sin, feel free to cast the first stone.

This is not an excuse to sin, Jesus said to go and sin no more.

When you do sin, run to Jesus and leave it there with Him.

I don’t like when Christians sin, I don’t like when I sin but I rest in the fact that when we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father and His name is Jesus. I know where I am headed and the greatest message I have to share with the world is not what is wrong with them but what is right with Jesus. Please don’t send me hate mail but please do share your thoughts.
